Andalucia Valderrama Masters Golf Odds: Kaymer could go top of the World | Great Field at Valderrama Including teen sensation Manasser: "Several European ‘Big Guns’ will be teeing off this week in the Andalucia Valderrama Masters Golf tournament in Spain but none have as much to gain as, Martin Kaymer. The German Ryder Cup player, who knows that a win, or a second place or a second place tie with one other player, at Valderrama will lift him above Lee Westwood and more significantly, Tiger Woods to the number one spot in the World Golf Rankings.
As such the 25 year old German has been made the 6/1 favourite by Ladbrokes to win the tournament, with next best in the betting being his biggest rival in the Race To Dubai, Graeme McDowell with odds of 14/1.
Kaymer of course became the first player, since Tiger Woods in 2006, to win three titles consecutively on tour, after he won the Dunhill Links Championship earlier this month. That title added to his Dutch Open win in September and his first ‘Major’ victory at the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in August. He was not quite up to making if four last week when finishing level with McDowell in the PGA Grand Slam of Golf behind Ernie Els. It should also be remembered that he also won in Abu Dhabi at the beginning of the season and now has four titles this year alone. He is already well clear of his rivals in the Race To Dubai, being nearly a million Euros ahead of McDowell in second place, which means that he could effectively be top of Europe and the world by Sunday evening."
