Miguel García from Salamanca collapsed in the 57th minute of the game against Betis on Sunday

Salamanca player, Miguel García, collapsed during the game against Betis on Sunday, and the press reports today that he ‘died’ on the pitch for some 20 seconds.

He was attended to by medics on the pitch who had to perform cardiac arrest before he was taken to the Clínico Hospital in Salamanca where he is now reported to be ‘stable and recovered’.

Speed was of the essence; he collapsed in the 57th minute and was on his way to hospital in the 61st.
